While its physical space is quite small (capacity is just over 200), the reputation and cultural relevance of the Metro Gallery make it one of most titanic music institutions near The Fitzgerald. Sharen Van Etten, The Dead Milkmen, Dirty Projectors, Beach House, The Dismemberment Plan, Cass McCombs, and Future Islands are just a few of the acts who’ve taken the stage at this performance space, art gallery, and bar in downtown Baltimore.
Visitors love the acoustics, the space for dancing and socializing, and the friendly service at the bar. While you can’t beat the energy of a packed live show or DJ night, regulars also praise the relaxed vibe of The Metro Gallery’s smaller concerts, as well as its gallery openings and karaoke nights. Check the website for the latest schedule of concerts, exhibits, and special events! Tip: This Friday, July 31, will feature all-David-Bowie karaoke starting at 9 p.m.!
