Baltimore has really got the wort boiling this week, as Baltimore Beer Week is in full swing. You can be sure to find tons of craft beer deals, themes, and events all day, every day until the 18th. With over 340 events going on all week, it’s hard to keep track of which ones you should sip or skip. The Fitzgerald is here to help and give you a little guidance.
Do yourself a favor and check out the Beer & Food Pairing with Dogfish Head Brew Master, Sam Calagione at Morton’s Steakhouse. Dogfish Head is one of the biggest craft breweries on the east coast and in the country. You’ll even be able to meet the founder, owner, and head brew master of Dogfish Head, Sam Calagione. If you do not know who he is, you soon will, as he is starring in Discovery’s new TV series, “Brew Masters,” which airs in November.
The food pairing will take place at Morton’s Steak House in Downtown Baltimore this Thursday, and it starts at 4:30pm. So what exactly is a beer pairing, you ask? Well as you may or may not know, beer, just like wine, can compliment or take away from the flavor of the foods you eat. Proper pairings are very important, but in the past, they’ve have been overlooked by restaurants and patrons alike. This event will quite literally give you a taste for what beer can do for your food experience and visa versa. The cuisine that will be served includes an assortment of fine cheeses and Morton’s appetizers. The beer? Dogfish Head, of course.
If you like good beer or good food and are curious as to how they can enhance each other, this meet n’ greet with Sam Calagione is the Baltimore Beer Week event for you.
